Antar is a Vedic astrology app. To do its job it needs your birth details and it keeps notes on what you have talked about, which is more personal than most apps ever ask for. So this page is specific rather than general: below is the actual list of what is stored, in the actual order it happens.
The short version. We collect your email, your birth details, and your conversations. We do not run any advertising or analytics trackers — there is not a single one in the app. We do not sell your data, and we never will. You can read everything Antar remembers about you and delete any of it from inside the app.
What we collect
| Your email address | How you sign in. We send a six-digit code to it; we do not store a password because there isn't one. |
|---|---|
| Your birth details | Date, time, how confident you are of that time, and birthplace — stored as the text you chose plus its latitude, longitude and timezone. Without these there is no chart, so this is the one thing the app cannot work without. |
| Your computed chart | The result of the astronomical calculation. Cached so the same question gives the same answer and does not have to be recomputed. |
| Your conversations | What you write or say to Antar and what it says back, so a conversation can be resumed rather than restarted. |
| What it remembers | Short notes drawn from your conversations — "weighing a job change", that sort of thing — which is what lets guidance build on itself instead of starting cold each time. |
| Voice minutes used | A running count of seconds, so we can show you what is left of your allowance. This is a number, not a recording. |
| Subscription status | Whether you have an active subscription and when it renews. |
| Language preference | Whether you want English or Hindi. |
What we deliberately do not collect
- No location. The app never asks for your device location. When you search for your birthplace, that search runs against a place-name file that ships inside our own server — your search never leaves it and never reaches a third-party maps service.
- No trackers. There is no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK and no third-party tracking library in the app. We are not building an advertising profile of you because we are not in that business.
- No contacts, photos, or files. The app requests one device permission — the microphone — and only when you start a spoken consultation.
- No payment details. Subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google. Your card never touches our systems and we never see it.
Who else touches it
Running the app means using other companies for pieces of it. Each one below receives only what it needs to do its part, and none of them are permitted to use your data for their own purposes.
| Supabase | Sign-in and the database your data lives in. |
|---|---|
| Railway | Hosts the server that runs the app. |
| LiveKit | Carries the live audio during a spoken consultation. |
| Sarvam AI | Turns your speech into text and Antar's replies back into speech. It processes your voice during a consultation. |
| Anthropic | The model that phrases Antar's replies. It receives your chart data, the relevant part of what Antar remembers, and the conversation itself. It does not receive your email. |
| RevenueCat | Tells our server whether your subscription is active. |
| Apple, Google | Take the payment and handle billing. |
These providers operate in the United States, the European Union and India, so your data is processed outside your own country. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising or any other cross-context behavioural purpose.
How long we keep it
Your chart, memory and conversations are kept while your account exists, because their whole value is that they accumulate. Delete your account and everything attached to it is removed from our live database — the account record, the birth details, the charts, the conversations and the memory notes all go together. Encrypted backups roll off within 30 days.
Your control over it
- Read what it remembers. Every remembered note is listed in the app under You → Memory.
- Delete any of it. Remove an individual note there and it is gone; Antar will not act on it again.
- Delete the whole account. Write to privacy@tryantar.com from your account's email address and we will erase it within 30 days.
- Get a copy. Ask at the same address and we will send you everything we hold on you.
Depending on where you live you may also have rights under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, India's DPDP Act or the CCPA — to access, correct, port, restrict or object to processing, and to complain to your data protection authority. Use the address above and we will honour them regardless of where you happen to live.
Children
Antar is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect anything from a child. If you believe a child has given us data, write to us and we will delete it.
Security
Traffic is encrypted in transit, data is encrypted at rest, and access is scoped per user so one account cannot read another's chart or memory. No system is perfect; if we ever discover a breach affecting you we will tell you rather than hope you don't notice.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will say so in the app before the change applies, not quietly edit this page.
